Effective April 4, 2000, VISA will change the $50.00 consumer liability rule to $0 and eliminate the 48-hour time frame to report lost/stolen cards. The new liability policy applies to all consumer card use, including transactions performed on the Internet. This rule only applies to all VISA card products including credit, debit and Interlink transactions that occur on the VISA system.
